PROTECTAB EC-1

PROTECTAB EC-1 is a complete film coating premix based on sodium poly mannuronate (sodium alginate). Sodium Alginate has been long in use as a stable excipient and also as a safe food product. PROTECTAB EC-1 uses Sodium alginate for its excellent film forming properties.

A 2% film of PROTECTAB EC-1 offers little resistance to gastric solution and therefore does not cause major variations in disintegration or dissolution time of core tablets that have got good disintegration properties.

GOOD COLOUR HOLDING property of the film minimizes mottling thereby ensuring uniform finish on the tablet surface.

Where PROTECTAB EC-1 can be used?

The following the are the major advantages for PROTECTAB EC-1:

Rapid Drying : Drying rate is almost twice as fast as any HPMC based aqueous coating process. Therefore coating can be completed in a short time with excellent results.

Since PROTECTAB EC-1 dries easily heavy air flow and/or high temperatures are not needed for drying. Also pre-heating of core tablets is not required. Therefore even temperature sensitive products can be coated using PROTECTAB EC-1, as throughout the process the bed temperature remains around 38^° to 40^°C.

PROTECTAB EC-1 shows good colour holding property and gives good Product stability.
