PROTECTAB HP-1 is a complete film coating premix based on Hydroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose. Hydroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose has been long in use as a conventional film coating material. The PROTECTAB HP-1 series is available as Pure Aqueous Solvent Based System, Organic Solvent Based System and Hydro Alcoholic Solvent Based System.
Talc and Titanium Di Oxide free material available
Flavored pre mix available
PROTECTAB HP-1 series has been developed painstakingly in our R&D to give you good physical and chemical stability through out the life of your Product.
PROTECTAB HP-1 is easily re-constitutable and is compatible to short term exposure to high shear systems like Colloid Mill. Low foam formation avoids loss of material and increases handling convenience.
Sticking and peeling off have been almost eliminated. Efficient formulation of PROTECTAB HP-1 series ensures quick drying and excellent adhesion to core tablets. Good colour holding property of the formulation reduces mottling.
Also the coating solution viscosity is set so as to give a relatively stable suspension throughout the coating process, at the same time ensuring easy redispersion of the sedimented particles.
All these qualities make coating with PROTECTAB HP-1 easy, convenient and reproducible...
PROTECTAB HP-1 is based on HPMC as the basic film former. PROTECTAB HP-1 gives an easily soluble film in the entire pH range of the gastro Intestinal tract.
Good solubility of PROTECTAB HP-1 ensures that there is no major change to core tablet disintegration properties.
PROTECTAB HP-1 is recommended in the following cases:
Where higher percentage of coating is required. For e.g., for slightily Hygroscopic tablets where higher weight gain on coating will prove beneficial (say 3 to 4%) PROTECTAB HP-1 can be used. Very low water vapour transmission rate, with increased protection due to greater thickness of the protective film will ensure increased protection against moisture. Good solubility of the film ensures that the tablet does not fail in disintegration and dissolution properties even when 3 to 4% coating is given.
